19 Sept 2015

Ahoy Mateys!

I love September 19th, I mean who doesn't think its fun to go around saying Argh to anyone that makes you mad..

In honor of this special day, I made these cute little boxes decorated with a die cut pirate scull and "argh" in glitter.  I filled the box with Rum and delicious Hershey chocolates, because seriously what pirate wouldn't like rum and gold.... Im not a pirate and I love the combination.

Batman Forever

17 Sept 2015

What can I say, I'm a batman fan and when my client called me and wanted an invitation batman themed wedding. I couldn't resist take the job. She wanted to keep the theme but wanted it to be an elegant design.  She did want to use the batman signal.  I played around with a few ideas but in the end decided that this was the way to go.

I did a three layer invitation in yellow and black, and then placed inside a black pocket. And of course I used the batman symbol for the invite and yes its a die cut  (remember how I said Im obsessed with die cuts), then I double layered it on the front of the pocket to give it the 3d appearance. I love how it came out, what do you think?

Yellow Elephants on Parade

15 Sept 2015

Its all about the Die Cut

I have been obsessed lately with creating die cut invitations for my clients.  I got a call from an adorable client recently who wanted an invitation designed for her baby shower that was different than the average design. She liked the onesies and the diaper but wanted something different.

She is having twins, a boy and a girl and we needed to design something that  was gender neutral, so I came up with this elephant design for her.  I fell in love with this, I had to share.

I am working on other die cut invitations as we speak. I will share them as soon as they are done.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed this project.

Bye for now.

Night at the Movies

26 Jul 2015

A new client contacted me to create invitations a company picnic.

The picnic was going to be at held at the Pacific Theaters, and they were offering their employees lunch from a food truck.  They wanted something that acted as a voucher for the food that was being offered and since the location was open to the public they wanted to ensure that their employees were identified and not charged for the food.

I designed an invitation to look like an event ticket along with a tearaway potion for the food truck.  Each invitation was placed inside a customized black pocket and wrapped with a gingham bow.

These invites were so much fun to make, and I was so excited to hear how much my new client and their employees loved the invites.

Wouldn't these invites be fun to give to your friends for a movie night?  Or use as a themed birthday party.

Let me know your thoughts, what would you change or add to the invitation?

Silver and Glitter Chrsitening

21 Apr 2015

Maria (a former client) called me to let me know that her grand daughter Franki was being christened and she wanted her invitations to match her gorgeous dress.  The colors were crisp white with hints of silver..

This is what I created for Maria.

Maria and her daughter loved the invitation, and I love working with Maria, she is a spectacular client and I truly hope to hear from her again.

Thank you for visiting and I hope you like my design

Baby Girl's First Birthday

11 Apr 2015

I got a call the other day from Liz wanting a cute invitation for her daughter's first birthday.  She loved the  onesies invitation but didn't quite want those for her daughter's birthday.  So using the onesies as a starting point,  I went to the drawing board and came up with this.

Started off with the pink card stock and created a fold over ruffled dress.  To make this more for baby, I added the wording of the invitation on the onesies insert cut out and printed it on shimmer card stock

I closed the card off by adding a beautiful sheer pink ribbon tied in a bow... But, you know me and my embellishments!  I had to keep going, I added pearls to the dress, first I put it at the bottom but it was still missing something so I made this cute little necklace...

Because seriously, what girl doesn't like jewelry?

I had so much fun creating this card, a lot of trial and error, and quite a bit of hair pulling but in the end it was all worth it.  I did add it to my etsy shop, and have already gotten quite a bit of views and favorites on it.  Please stop by my shop and take a look around.

If you are interested in purchasing this for your baby's 1st birthday, you can purchase it directly through my shop by clicking here.  Thanks for stopping by!

Ballerina Birthday

3 Apr 2015

How cute are these little onesies ballerina invitations. I created them for a client who's little gorgeous daughter is turning one. I couldn't resist getting frilly and pink.

I love creating and designing so much and these were so much fun to make.  I know the guests are going to get a big kick out of them when they receive them.

And since I was creating something for a little girl, I decided to create a new design using the same die cut for a boy.  And here is what I came up with.  What do you think?

I love the bow tie, don't you?

Thanks for stopping by, talk to you soon

Nautical Theme Baby Shower

1 Apr 2015

Ahoy Matey!

We have recently added new invitation designs to our etsy store and here is one of them that I absolutely love.  These gorgeous diaper invitations can be made in any color or style, here I made a nautical theme invitations in navy blue and red.

The inside of the invitation I kept in the same color scheme, adding both masculine and feminine fonts and printed it on bright white heavy weight card stock

On the front of the diaper I added a 3d tag with Baby Boy and the date of the event. Of course we can make it with the name of the mommy-to-be

But of course I think you know me enough to know that i couldn't just stop there, I proceeded to add the cutest anchor charm on the front to tie it together.   If you are interested in checking these invitations out or seeing more in other designs, check out our Etsy shop, I will be adding more designs and colors as I complete them.

Thanks for stopping by!

Victorian Roses

23 Mar 2015

When Anita contacted me about her wedding at the beautiful Descanso Gardens in La Canada Flintridge, I knew immediately what I wanted to do for her invitations.

I created these invitations for her and I think they came out great.  She really liked the Victorian Roses I chose and the color combination was fantastic.

The invitation is printed on 130 pound card stock and mounted on beautiful pink card stock to tie in her colors.

For the envelope liner, I created another rose cluster to match the invitation.

I added a rose vine belly band and tied it ff with bakers twine, and then I added a hand stamped monogram initial that was die cut into a heart

I love the colors on this invitation, and there are so many roses, I swear I think I can smell them right now. I just love flowers, they can really brighten my day up.

Save the Date

21 Mar 2015

Lisa is having a rustic country wedding and wanted her save the dates to give her guests a hint of whats to come.  I created these mason jar save the dates for her and she just loved them.

The cards were die cut into these lovely mason jar shapes and were tied with a bakers twine bow

Once I saw the completed die cut, I decided to add a little sparkle, because really, what girl doesn't like sparkle.  I stamped a beautiful filigree scroll and embossed it with gold, and it came out gorgeous, if I do say so myself.

These were a lot of fun to make, and seeing Lisa's smile, makes it all worth while.

The Best Top Coat Ever

5 Mar 2015

Okay, I cant believe we are in March already and I haven't had a moment to post anything.  It has been seriously a hectic few months and I am finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. WooHoo!

With that said, my first post of the year has got to be about the best top coat I have found, I know this has nothing to do with what we do here at Amira Design, but trust me its worth knowing about it.  Im definitely not an expert on the products by any means, all I know this will probably be the only top coat I will ever use again. I have found a way to tie it in to one of our new products that we offer and I thought this was a great way to share my new passion.

First of all let me tell you about this wonderful new product (wait, I really dont know if its new on the market, what I do know is its new to me...)  I purchased this top coat for my niece as a Christmas gift for her nail design set.  A few weeks ago she decided to give me a manicure and let me tell you, we used a nail polish that was from the dollar store and 3 weeks later, my polish is still on and has not chipped at all...  It is almost like having gel polish on and is a heck of a lot cheaper.  Absolutely amazing, especially for someone like me who works with her hands  and works with paper. I leave no marks on paper at all... Amazing!

This amazing stuff is called CND Vinylux, it says right on the bottle that its a weekly top coat but trust me when I say, it lasts longer than a week, and it stays shiny, like you just put it on. I purchased it from Amazon, I will add the link at the bottom.

I couldn't keep this product a secret, I purchase a bunch of them and decided to share it with a few of my friends, and this brings me to one of your products.  These gorgeous boxes were made to fit this bottle of polish perfectly.  I figure if you are going to give out a beautiful gift like this, it needed an equally beautiful wrapping.

These gorgeous boxes are made with shimmer card stock in Slate and wrapped with a hot pink ribbon.  A tag is added with a stamped sentiment and layered with cute flower cutouts, and of course lets not forget the bling.

If you are interested in finding out how I made these boxes, please drop me an email here for directions.

Almost forgot.  here is the link for the top coat.  http://amzn.to/1BMl5Cg
