Robot Baby Shower

1 May 2013

Just finished this Robot Baby Shower Invitations and Party Decorations.  Desiree wanted the shower to be a robot theme and the colors to be dark blue, gray and yellow.  It was so much fun creating these little invites and Desiree was a wonderful and such an easy customer to work with.

DIY Wedding Invitation

29 Apr 2013

Happy Monday!

Invitation Plus RSVP Card Freebie

You are on a tight budge and you would like to make your own invitations. There are many options available to you, which we can get into at a later time.  Right now I want to show you how you can create your own invitation at home for highly reduced amount.

If you have a computer and a printer, and a couple of good friends, then you can create this at home.   This is what you will need to be able to complete this project at home

A paper cutter, strong clear drying glue, a toothpick, A corner punch and double sided tape

What you will need to do is download the file for your invitation here

And the RSVP here

Once you have downloaded the files, you can use them as jpg images and resize them as you need them in MS Word, by using the text box option to add your information.   Here we used the ALS Font, which is a free font available anywhere on line, I downloaded mine from Fontspace.  If you would like to use another font you can do that also.

Once you have added all your information and everything is set up the way you want it, you can either give it to a printer to print and cut the invitation or you can do it yourself.

Now that you have the printed invitation, the fun part starts, you can leave it as is or you can add rounded corners on the invitation to give it the cleaner elegant feel.

You can matte this invitation on top of another cardstock in a different color to match your wedding colors, or you can leave it as a single layered invitation.

Here I decided to add crystals to the invitation, not only does it brighten up the invitation, but it adds a real nice elegant touch to the invitation.

what you will need to do is grab your toothpick and add some doublesided tape to one side of the toothpick so that you can pick up the crystals. (secret of the trade, seriously it is my best tool and I have tried a lot)  The other end of the toothpick is to transfer the glue from your little mound to the invitation.

Using the toothpick to transfer the glue will get you a clean dot on the invitation, it is so much better to do this then to squeeze glue directly on the card. Trust me you dont need that much. once you have placed the glue in the spot you want, turn the pick over and use the taped side to pick up the crystal (shiny side up) and apply it to the glue,  That is it.

Here is the finished product. What do you think
